Cyril Venn died from wounds on 24th April, 1915 but as yet there is no information as to where and on what date he was wounded. The 2nd East Lancashire battalion was part of 24 Brigade, 8th Division that had been in action during the Battle of Neuve Chapell in March 1915 and then, in April, 1915 had been holding the line around Bac St Maur near Fleurbaix. |
